Kai Guingona, competing in the Midget 55 division, placed second in a field of 8 wrestlers on October 11th in Fresno.  The California World Challenge was a competitive tournament.  All eight wrestlers in the weight class were state placers.  Kai eventually lost to defending State Champion, Nestor Delgado of Team Smackdown 9-0. 

On September 27, 2008, Mike Borrego was elected the President of the Coastside Grapplers.  He brings with him a wealth of experience and involvement with youth sports.  Mike's sons, Manny and Danny compete for the Grapplers.

Ray Reyes, former head coach of Jefferson High School's wrestling team has joined the Coastside Grapplers.  He brings his extensive coaching skills to us and we are looking forward to a great year!  Danny Woo, assistant coach at Terra Nova High School, will be helping out with the coaching duties this year.  Danny has coached at Terra Nova for a number of years and also headed the middle school program here in Pacifica.

The Coastside Grapplers have started practice on wednesdays and fridays from 6 to 7:30 at Terra Nova High School in Pacifica, California.
