Renegade Force takes 1st and 2nd at Nationals Duals

Memeorial Day weekend: Renegade Force (MS) team are the 2008 NHSCA National Champs!!! Renegade Force (EM) are the 2008 National Runners-up!!!! Excellent work by all the boys. The High School team competed excellent as well, but giving up 24 points per dual hurt the team, but in their loses, all but one was less than 18 points, which means if we had a full team, they too may have been in the hunt for a finals spot. Excellent work to all of the team members.

PENNSYLVANIA DIESEL, TEAM PRODIGY, RENEGADE FORCE WIN TITLES IN 9TH ANNUAL NHSCA NATIONAL WRESTLING DUALS, EAST COAST EASTON, Pa. – Pennsylvania Diesel returned to the top of the standings in the High School Division, with Renegade Force taking the Middle School Division title and Team Prodigy the Elementary Division crown in the 9th annual National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) East Coast National Wrestling Duals May 23-26 at the Wicomico Youth Civic Center in Salisbury, Md.The scholastic-style team event was contested for wrestlers in three age groups: the High School Division (grades 9-12), the Middle School Division (grades 7-9) and the Elementary Division (grades 4-6). The event attracted a total of 110 teams, including a record 64 in the High School Division.Pennsylvania Diesel, comprised mostly of wrestlers from central and south central Pennsylvania, won its second High School Division title in three years with a dominating performance, going 6-0 and winning their six duals by an average score of 55-5. In championship bracket matches, Diesel beat New Jersey Elite 50-6 in the quarterfinals, Michigan Next Level 37-10 in the semifinals and the Pennsylvania Premium Select squad 54-6 for the title. Nine Diesel wrestlers were a perfect 3-0 in championship pool matches, including three-time Pennsylvania placewinner Matt Snyder (119) of Lewistown High shutting out New Jersey state champion Vinnie Dellefave of Toms River East High 4-0 in the quarterfinal dual. Two others scored big wins in the final, Luke Walker (130) of Mechanicsburg Cumberland Valley High beating National High School Seniors champion Chris Albright of Red Lion High 6-3 and Jon Fausey (171) of Herndon Line Mountain High edging National High School Juniors champion Edward Ruth of Harrisburg Susquehanna Township High 3-2.“The level of competition at this year’s National Wrestling Duals was the best yet,” NHSCA associate executive director Bob Ferraro Jr. said. “The bracket round was outstanding. Every match had everybody on the edge of their seat. The matches were outstanding in all three divisions.”Renegade Force also was dominant in winning its first Middle School Division crown, outscoring its first five opponents by a 351-37 margin. That included victories of 53-18 over the Ohio Gladiators in the quarterfinals and 59-9 over the Susquehanna River Boyz in the semifinals. However, they had to come from behind against Southeast Pennsylvania White in the finals. Trailing 21-13 with six matches remaining, Renegade Force broke through with five consecutive victories from Averee Robinson (230), Ryan Diehl (75), Devon Bentley (80), Evan Botwin (85) and Austin Rose (90), with Robinson, Bentley and Botwin scoring pins during the streak, as Renegade Force took the title by a 37-27 score.The Elementary Division, meanwhile, featured the balanced field in the tournament. Both finalists, Team Prodigy and Renegade Force, lost a match in pool competition, Team Prodigy losing 29-25 to Southeastern Pennsylvania Elementary and Renegade Force falling 33-32 to Team Elite. The semifinals were close as well, with Team Prodigy getting by Team Elite 35-25 and Renegade Force edging the Illinois Outsiders 34-28. Renagade Force Takes 6th McDonogh Duals 2-1-08

Team Renegade Force took 6th at the 2008 McDonogh Duals. Although the place was lower than last years 2nd place finish, the wrestlers battled well and lost very close matches to NJ Lightning (41-32) and Pasack Hills (43-27). Going 3-2 on the day, with a 6th place finish out of 16 teams. Great job Renegades!

Middle School Team PA takes first at the SJWA/VAC National Middle School Duals - 2/8/08

The Middles School Team Pennsylvania took 1st and 2nd at the Middle School national duals held in Wildwood, NJ on Feb. 8-9, 2008. The Middles School team Blue went 11-0 during the dual tournament and met PA Team gold in the finals for a very entertaining match. Great Job to both Teams!

Sophomore Team PA takes first at VAC/USAW National Duals 4-4-08

The Sophomore Team Pennsylvania took 1st this past weekend at the Sophomore National Duals Held in Hampton Virginia. What was even more impressive is that the team only lost 2 individual matches during the event. The entire team won gold medals and each wrestler was awarded the OW for their efforts.
